Important!
Please remember that late June and July is the busy tourist season in Krakow, esp. with Euro 2012 football games being played at the time in other Polish cities - many hotel rooms in Krakow might be booked well in advance.
Student hostels range from $40 for a single room and $50 for a double. They are reasonably comfortable and breakfast is available in downstairs cafes. We recommend them to the participants. Book your room while registering online on the first-come-first-served basis - you pay a deposit only, the remaining payment is made on arrival (please note that the system is counting the total sum due for accommodation and then only charging you for the deposit) . Double rooms should be booked by one person only to avoid overbooking. After you have selected the dorm and room, please remember to confirm and pay the deposit NO MORE THAN FIVE DAYS LATER - otherwise your reservation will be cancelled.
In case you wished to change your dorm reservation after you have registered, you can do it directly through the online registration; this is subject to the room availability and is possible until the cancellation date of your selected dorm only - the date is clearly marked (usually one to two months before arrival). Any later changes should be avoided and will need to be negotiated through the conference office (cbin@adm.uj.edu.pl) - after the cancellation date you are likely to lose your deposit when changing dorms.
If you wish to reserve your room for longer than until July 1 to take advantage of the cultural opportunities Kraków offers in early July, please let the conference office know as soon as possible via e-mail: cbin@adm.uj.edu.pl (mention Humor Conference in the message header) and they will extend the reservation for you.
The student dorms are the following:
The dorms offer wi-fi internet, no air conditioning is available (Kraków has a moderate climate, so normally this is not a problem).

Kraków offers a wide range of accommodation in the vicinity of Conference venue from low-budget to luxury hotels. It is recommended to make advance booking due to a large number of tourists visiting Kraków throughout the year, and especially in the summer season.
Prices of hotels range from $70, with the average price for a single room being $100-150 a night. Hotels are located in the Old Town quarter (all within a few minutes’ walking distance from the conference venue) as well as in the old Jewish quarter of “Kazimierz” (distance from the venue ca. 30 minutes walk or six tram stops). Old town apartments range from $30 for a single room.
We recommend a couple of 3-star hotels to the conference participants (about $ 100 for a single and $150 for a double room). Book your room through the online registration on the first-come-first-served basis - you pay a deposit only, the remaining payment is made on arrival (please note that the system is counting the total sum due for accommodation and then only charging you for the deposit). The recommended hotels (their locations are marked on the map above):
Moderately-priced Krakow hotels typically do not have air-conditioning, but thick walls of the old town buildings provide for natural air-conditioning in the summer.
In case the recommended hotels do not meet your individual preferences, you can also use the web page
www.staypoland.com/krakow-hotels.asp to find a detailed description of accommodation you can find suitable. The web page also includes the location of particular hotels on the map. It is possible to make online reservation.
Lunches during the conference are going to be offered at the conference venue - Auditorium Maximum cafeteria (we recommend that you order them while registering, vegetarian meals will be available). For other meals the following selection of fine restaurants as well as quick lunch outlets are at your disposal.
Nostalgia (10 Karmelicka Street)
Trattoria Mamma Mia (14 Karmelicka)
Vega (vegetarian bar, 22 Krupnicza Street )
